This litho/stencil collage of bananas is a quintessential pop-art icon. A mix between styles of Andy Warhol the silkscreen art of the 1960s that fits perfectly in the kitchen, breakfast room, or as "centre piece" in your living room!
Pop art was an art movement that emerged from a particular zeitgeist, namely that of freedom, sexual revolution and women's emancipation. Pop art partially set itself against American abstract expressionism. The hyperserious and conceptual nature of this art movement was the ideal breeding ground for a reactionary movement like pop art. Everyday utensils from consumer society, mass-produced serial products, all possible reproducible objects were henceforth accepted as motifs in art. With this, the pop art movement was closer to life.
