I found the beautiful Poppy in my garden in a dark purple shade, almost black. The sun shone on the dark parts and created a brightening effect. A nice contrast and therefore a challenge to make a black-and-white drawing of this flower, I immediately thought. That turned out to be quite a challenge in which I eventually succeeded.
Art on canvas looks great on any wall. It truly comes into its own with paintings featuring sharp brushstrokes.
Artist Cobi de Jong is from Nootdorp and has been photographing for some time alongside her work as a draughtsman and drawing teacher. In her photographs, too, she likes to work in a minimalist style with a penchant for lines, planes and harmony.
