Bald eagles are the largest birds of prey in North America after the Californian condor. Their body length is 70-90 cm, wingspan 1.80-2.50 m and weight 2.5-6.3 kg. The proportions and plumage colouring are very similar to the white-tailed eagle, but the colouring of the bald eagle is much more contrasting. The head and neck, the tail and the upper and lower tail coverts are white, the body and wings are dark brown. Feet, beak, wax skin and the iris of the eyes are light yellow.
