Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.

About ‘Portrait of Loef Vredericx, Thomas de Keyser’

Thomas de Keyser, Portrait of Loef Vredericx (1590-1668) as an Ensign, 1626

In his daily life, Loef Vredericx was a silversmith, but here he is portrayed in the honourable position of ensign of the Amsterdam civic militia. Loef proudly had his portrait painted in this office by Thomas de Keyser, the most celebrated portraitist in Amsterdam at the time. Loef is wearing the costume of a marksman with a green sash around his waist, an iron gorget and a rapier at his side. The standard bears the Dutch lion and the text ‘Pro Patria’ – for the fatherland.
