This mixed media work shows the weathered portrait of a woman on an old exterior wall, framed by ivy. You could also describe this work as a still life.
I work in Photoshop. I mix my own photos with existing (copyright-free) material and my own ideas. I leave existing material (paintings, drawings, lithographs, etc.) in their original state as much as possible. Any imperfections therefore remain visible when I find it of added value.
People may ask questions about some of my works. The answers lie with the viewers themselves. I want to give them the chance to give their own interpretation, to make the work 'their own'. Of course, I also pay attention to aesthetics. After all, a work has to be decorative and/or attractive.
