About ‘Poverty’ by RoFoto
An authentic 17th-century oil lamp, burning exactly as it did back then. It runs on rapeseed oil and a wick; any excess oil absorbed by the wick is collected in the lower dish.
It is a rather dimly lit, shabby scene – but then, not everything in the 17th century was prosperous. That is what I have tried to capture here.

I am a person with broad interests and have been involved in photography as a hobby since childhood. I have a penchant for still lifes with a distinct effect of light and shadow in the scene.
