As a macro photographer, you often go out early. Not only because you often have the best light then and the insects are still sitting still. But in my case, also because I often have to travel a bit further to find butterflies and dragonflies. In this case, I even drove north the day before to spend the night in a hotel, so I could be in this nature reserve before sunrise.
But a morning like this makes it worth it. How nice it is to wake up among the birds' songs. And then when the sun comes up and you find all kinds of insects warming up in the sun, your day can't fail! This Black-tailed Skimmer(Orthetrum Cancellatum) was sitting high in the grass waiting for the sun to warm its wings and evaporate the dewdrops. Isn't it a beauty?
