Wolfgang Axel Scharfe (1939-2014)
The Nuremberg painter Wolfgang Axel Scharfe was strongly influenced in his artistic work by Surrealism and by one of the most important representatives of this style, Salvadore Dali. The partly abstract partly reality-related depictions are strongly expressive in form and color. Scharfe worked and lived in Nuremberg. In late years he was increasingly drawn to the south of France, where further works were created.
