Queen Mary 2 berthed and Hotel New York Rotterdam.
I was on Katendrecht because I wanted to photograph the Queen Mary from the front so with the beautiful bow. And the Kop van Zuid and the beautiful Hotel New York. And a famous water cab passed in front of it. That was the picture I wanted to take.
Because what you see here is Rotterdam in 1 picture. The bridges Kop van Zuid, the Queen Mary moored at the Cruise Terminal and the water cab with a beautiful stern wave. The different architectural styles with Hotel New York in between in all its grandeur. The bridges in the different styles. Even a small piece of the old Hef. It was an overcast day but it did give a special moody atmosphere.
Raw and the port as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always in motion. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
