About ‘Ravesteyn Ruin in Heenvliet’ by Shot By DiVa

On open monument day 2022 I went to ruin Ravesteyn in Heenvliet.
This ruin can only be visited on Saturdays in the spring and summer months. In winter the estate is closed to the public.

This was once the castle of the Lord of Heenvliet and is one of the few remaining structures from the Middle Ages. The ruin is surrounded by a moat and the estate is surrounded by an English landscape garden. Here nature and history determine the atmosphere. An annual sculpture garden is organized on the estate where art can be seen in the beautiful garden surrounding the ruins.
