I came across these red, English telephone booths in Malta. Whether they are still in use I dare not say, but they are still very nice red in colour. Malta was a British colony until independence as the State of Malta within the British Commonwealth on 21 September 1964. In 1969, the last British troops left the island. Until 1974, the British Queen was the head of state; then the country became a republic.
