The Red ibis (Eudocimus ruber) is a bird of the family of Ibis and spoonbills (Threskiornithidae). Some authors classify the Spoonbills ("Plataleidae") in a separate group. This striking resident bird has a bright, orange-red plumage with black wing tips and a long, curved beak. This plumage is the same for both sexes. The body length is 56 to 86 cm and the weight 775 to 925 grams.
