Venice's lagoon is home to many islands, Burano being perhaps the most colourful of them all.
The island is inhabited by a community of fishermen, who go out in the early hours of the day. Because of its location in the lagoon, the island is regularly blanketed in fog at sunrise. To be able to find their home again, everyone has painted their house a different colour.
In this image, you can see one of these houses, whose façade really stands out with its red colour. Nice touches are the flower boxes in front of the windows and a washing line with laundry on the top floor. The orange and white striped cloth in front of the door, is also a nice element in this image.
