Ponta Sao Laurenco is a peninsula, in the north east of Madeira. For this image, in went out early, to capture the sunrise. From the car park, it was another half-hour walk, to the top of this mountain. After this, it was waiting for the sun, to illuminate the magnificent view with its warm rays.

The sun illuminates the background with warm orange rays, while some shades of purple can still be seen in the clouds. This gives a nice contrast to the colours of the rocks in the foreground.
