At first glance it looks like an abstract painting with wild shapes and fancy colors. But once you know how this image was created you start to see it.
This picture, of the reflection in the almost mirror smooth surface of the Leuvehaven, was taken from the quay near the new Port Pavillion. I then mirrored the image around its horizontal axis, creating the illusion like you were looking up from underwater. A reflectification, that's what I call this kind of image.
We see the historic ships in Bierhaven harbor, the brick housing development around that harbor basin and behind it the modern residential towers on Wijnhaven Island.
There was just enough movement in the water for spectacular distortions, and the afternoon sun shone on the ships and buildings, making the whole image very colorful.
