About the artwork

This beautiful fern was photographed with a macro lens and edited in black and white for the effect of these beautiful grayscale shades. These shades makes the details even more visible but also gives the fern a vintage or retro look. Well fitting for the fern because ferns are ancient.

It is like looking at the beginning of the creation of the earth. The fern reproduces by means of spores. These are tiny specks that you can find under the leaf. And this was the first way for plants to reproduce. So the ferns have also been around for millions of years. The oldest fossils found of ferns are about 400 million years old. So if you see a fern, you're actually seeing a piece of ancient history that we can still admire today.

So the fern is a real favorite for me. And with this plate you can enjoy its history even better.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
