About ‘Retro bus station in Leidsche Rijn, Utrecht’ by pauline smale

The canopy at Leidsche Rijn Centrum bus station is the winner of the 2020 Rietveld Prize. The distinctive design by architect Annebregje Snijders can be viewed at "een ode aan de bus".

The Rietveld Prize is awarded every two years to a construction project in the city of Utrecht, with consideration given to the quality of the project and its contribution to the city’s atmosphere and usability. The retro colours make it all look a bit softer, but it really does exist! It’s brilliant to get on the bus in Utrecht like this.
