This aerial photograph captures the sculpted granite coastline near Sandefjord, in the Vestfold og Telemark region of southern Norway. From above, the rock formations appear like natural sculptures rising from the turquoise water, their rounded shapes carved by ice and sea over thousands of years. The narrow inlets between the rocks reveal the clarity and depth of the Nordic waters, where sunlight plays across shifting tones of blue and green. A small white boat is moored in a sheltered channel, adding a sense of scale and calm to the rugged landscape. I was drawn to the geometry and texture of this coastal scene — the balance between solid stone and fluid sea, permanence and motion. The combination of sharp detail and soft color gives the image a tranquil, almost meditative quality. This view shows a characteristic part of the Norwegian skerries, where smooth rock islands, clean light and quiet isolation form a timeless landscape.
