Piazza dell'Orologio, which is just a few steps away from Piazza Navona, takes its name from the clock in the tower of the Palazzo dei Filippini, which overlooks it and was built by Borromini (1559-1667) between 1647 and 1649. In its concave part, below the clock, is the magnificent mosaic of the Madonna of Vallicella, designed by Pietro da Cortona.
