The roseate plover (Charadrius obscurus) is a wading bird in the family of plovers (Charadriidae). The bird was described by Johann Friedrich Gmelin in 1789. It is a critically endangered, endemic bird species in southern New Zealand. BirdLife International considers the subspecies C. o. aquilonius and C. o. obscurus to be separate species.
