A beautiful sunset in January above the river Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam: the sky turns purple, red and blue and contrasts nicely with the yellowish of the city lights.
This panorama is composed of three pictures taken from the quayside next to Hotel New York at the Wilhelmina Pier. Om the far left we see the residential towers of Katendrecht, and to their right the ventilation building of the Maas Tunnel, the neighbourhood of Charlois and the ships and harbour cranes at Waalhaven.
Still further to the right: the other vent building of the tunnel, Park Quay, the Euromast observation tower, Westerlaan Tower and the pre-war buildings along the West Quay.
In the background we see the Twin Towers of the Erasmus Medical Centre and in front of that the historic ships in the Ferry Harbour. The brightly lit building is the World Museum at Willems Quay.
The picture ends with the sightseeing boats of Spido and the residential towers at the foot of Erasmus Bridge.
