The edges of the night, it was once a term that was used in the debate on night flights from certain airports.
But the edges of the night, those are also the golden and blue hours, the time just before and just after the sunrise and sunset. The hours with colorful skies, light streaks from cars and blurring water surfaces. The periods that both artificial and natural light play a role. This collage of 36 photographs includes many famous buildings in Rotterdam: Erasmus Bridge, The Rotterdam, The Market Hall, Central Station, The Doelen concert hall, The White House, Hotel New York, Saint Lawrence Church, The Timmerhuis. And, how could it be otherwise in the largest port in Europe, many ports, quays and ships.
