In the foreground, time seems to have stood still, on this early morning at dusk at the Wijnhaven in Rotterdam. We see historic ships and old buildings, including on the far right the famous White House, Europe's first skyscraper from 1898. The towers in the background reveal that this is a recent photo. Although it must be said that the buildings to the left of the White House are in fact new as well: they were demolished in the 1990s for the construction of the railroad tunnel and rebuilt after several years of absence.
