About ‘Rotterdam grain piston’ by Frans Blok - photos, art and other wall decoration
Grain Pistons were used in the port of Rotterdam mainly in the first half of the twentieth century to bring grain directly from seagoing vessels into inland barges. Nowadays they are rarely used because their role is taken over by cranes. One grain piston can still be seen at the Harbour Museum in Leuvehaven.
