About "Rotterdam square in the rain"

About the artwork

The Gelderseplein in Rotterdam, surrounded by modern and historic buildings, on a rainy evening in the blue hour.

The Gelderseplein, named after the Geldersekade along the Old Harbour, which we have here behind us, did not exist in the past. Before the war, a block of houses stood here and along the properties on the left was the Wijnstraat, which ran all the way to the Leuvehaven.

Those buildings on the left are the oldest buildings along the square, but they were away for a while in the 1990s because work was going on here on the railway tunnel.

Offices, homes, a hotel, pubs, the Marine Museum, it's all there behind the facades around the square. On this evening in November, they reflect in the wet bricks of the square. And those two motorcycles on the right, placed in such a way that you'd almost think they are driving into the square, create a subtle surreal effect.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
