Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet Solo Display 2018.
The McDonnell Douglas CF-18 Hornet is a Royal Canadian Air Force variant of the US McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet fighter aircraft. The aircraft pictured is from the Canadian Air Force's CF-18 Solo Display Team. The aircraft in the picture is the team's spare box, the actual demo aircraft was grounded with breakdowns at the time.
For the 2018 season, the demo plane featured a colour scheme to mark the 60th anniversary of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). NORAD is the military command in charge of defending North American airspace. Established in 1958 by Canada and the United States, it operates 24/7 to protect both countries.
This photo was taken during the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford on 15 July 2018.
