A building with history, that's what you can call the Ruïnekerk (Ruined Church) in Bergen NH. The place where in 1799 'the Battle of Bergen' took place. Mind you, the Battle of Bergen was one of the bloodiest during the 1799 invasion. Some 223 years ago, a British-Russian invasion force landed somewhere between Callantsoog and Groote Keeten in North Holland. More than 80,000 soldiers were put on the beaches during that period. But today, it is a place to enjoy, right in the centre and surrounded by old buildings and restaurants with a fine menu and serving a nice glass of wine. The Place to be!
