I took this picture on the Hulshorster sand. This Scots pine is located near the transition between heather and drifting sand. The picture was taken in the evening sun in the month of August. The heather is meant to get the wind on the drifting sand of the Hulshorster sand and the insects and butterflies to find more food. This type of pine is found on several plains and heathlands on the Veluwe.
