This morning I drove from Friesenheim to the ruins of Geroldseck Castle at around 7am. It was completely foggy in Friesenheim, but the fog lifted 300 metres before the turn-off to the castle. When I arrived at the castle, the Kinzig valley and the Rhine valley were completely covered in fog. With the sun behind me, I was able to observe how individual parts of the fog were illuminated. After a few minutes, the fog lifted and the Langenhardt became visible. In the background you can still see parts of the Vosges.
