Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.

About ‘Seahorse @ Komodo, Indonesia’ by Travel Tips and Stories

You won’t find any large seahorses in Komodo National Park, but you will find the world-famous pygmy seahorses. These tiny creatures grow to no more than the size of a grain of rice, up to a maximum of 2.5 cm. They are known for their exceptional camouflage and live in symbiosis with specific fan corals.

The two best-known species in Komodo are:
Hippocampus bargibanti: This species lives exclusively on Muricella fan corals. They have a spherical body with nodules that are exactly the same colour as the coral’s polyps.
Hippocampus pontoh: Unlike other species, this one lives mainly in shallower water amongst seagrass and algae.
Distinctive features: Masters of camouflage: They take on the exact colour and texture of their host coral. They are so small that when diving you often need a magnifying glass or the help of an experienced local guide to spot them.
Reproduction: As with other seahorses, the male carries the eggs in his brood pouch and cares for the offspring.
Habitat: They cling to coral fans at depths of between 15 and 40 metres, where they feed on small crustaceans (copepods) from the water.
