Jökulsárlón is a glacial lagoon adjacent to Vatnajökull National Park in southeastern Iceland. The still, blue waters are dotted with icebergs from the surrounding Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, part of the larger Vatnajökull glacier. The glacier lagoon flows into the Atlantic Ocean through a short waterway, leaving chunks of ice on a black sand beach. In winter, the fish-filled lagoon is home to hundreds of seals.
