"Shadow in Motion:
This photograph shows the shadow of a person and a balustrade projected onto a warm, weathered stone wall. The image captures an ephemeral moment where light and form meet, evoking an atmosphere of calm, reflection and transience.
The inspiration came during a trip to the south of France, to the Jardin de la Fontaine in Nîmes. The interplay of light and shadow, combined with personal reflection and influences from film and literature, gave birth to this image.
The photo symbolises the idea that we leave traces without being physically present - like a memory carried by the light. The work came into being during a period of personal reflection and carries an emotional charge of silence, beauty and impermanence.
Born in Chazelles sur Lyon (France) in 1949, living and working in the Netherlands since 1970.
