An abstract painting, created in my art studio overlooking the countryside in Central Italy. I set out to explore what I could do with shades of blue and pink with some bronze highlights using acrylic paint. As always, great fun was had in the studio with incense burning and loud music. I used several different techniques to get this delicate, yet strong, look to the piece. I asked my followers on Mastodon to help me name this piece and several mentioned ocean, sea, water. The word 'shattered' was mentioned several times. One person commented it was like a rock pool and another commented it was like looking up through the surface of a pool at the rocks above. So I called it 'Shattered Pool'. It is at once soothing and tranquil, yet with a fluidity and motion that catches the eye. A beautiful piece for your wall.
Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.
An artist and writer, I specialize in photo art and acrylic painting. For my photo art, I start with my own photographs and work on them digitally to capture the feeling I want to convey with the final image. For my abstract work, I literally 'go with the flow' and follow where my heart wants to take me as I work.
I create art to make your heart smile, capturing the spirit of place in towns and villages, or creating art to enhance the energy of your home or workplace. Take your time to look through my portfolio, I hope you enjoy it.
