This curious little monkey is a Siberian squirrel, or chipmunk, or ground squirrel, or burrowing squirrel. They are characterised by longitudinal stripes on their bodies. They are the only ground squirrels found outside North America. The lifespan of the animal is 6-10 years. The photo was taken in the De Warande walking forest in Tilburg.
The background was deliberately kept blurred to make the animal stand out.
