On a soft, parchment-like background, fine, dark lines run horizontally across the plane. They are applied by hand, each with a slight deviation, a trembling line here, a thickening there - as if each line is a breath. The background is not even; the soft tones are reminiscent of aged paper, as if the work had already lived a life before it was exhibited.
The inspiration for this work comes from moments of introspection. At a time when everything around us seemed fast and noisy, we looked for stillness. we are fascinated by repetition, by the peace that comes from allowing yourself to build something slowly, with attention.
The atmosphere of the work is calm, contemplative. It invites you to slow down. Some viewers say it reminds them of old manuscripts, of the rhythm of breathing or even of music without sound. It is exactly that quiet rhythm that we want to convey: a sense of stillness in a time that is constantly moving.
Technically, we opted for a mix of acrylic paint and pencil on hand-worked paper, so texture is an integral part of the work.
In an interior, this work brings a sense of calm. It fits well in a space where contemplation, creativity or simplicity is valued. The work poses modestly but continues to speak to those who take the time to listen.
