I took this photo in Dubrovnik, Croatia, on a hot summer day. From the city walls, I looked out over the maze of orange roofs, old church towers and narrow streets that make up this city's unique charm. The Mediterranean shimmered in the background, and the soft light of the afternoon gave the stone buildings a warm glow.
What struck me and what I wanted to capture was the peace that hung over the hustle and bustle. Despite the tourists below, the place felt quiet, almost timeless. The combination of the historic centre with the calm sea beyond gave a sense of balance and beauty that is hard to capture in words.
For me, this photo is a reminder of what travelling feels like: getting lost in new places, dwelling on details and enjoying the view that makes you completely still for a moment.
