Silent Dune is a minimalist photo of the Zeeland dune landscape. Silence captured in sand. The dune lay there untouched. As if it was breathing, slowly and without sound.
I took this photo in Westenschouwen, on Schouwen-Duiveland at the end of spring. The air was clear, the sun warm and the blue sky formed a beautiful contrast with the white sand of the dunes. There was no wind, only a light movement of air that was barely noticeable.
The sand slid under my feet. The dune towered, not high, but with a silent force. Grasses held on, bent and bending. Shaped by weather and time, but still present. Everything felt slowed down. Every step brought me closer to simplicity.
There is something comforting about this place in Zeeland. Something steadfast. A landscape that asks for nothing and yet gives so much. As a reminder of how quiet and simple it can be. How enough a moment can be.
A silent dune. And maybe some silence within myself.
Welcome.

An invitation to be still and to slow down. Not only to look, but above all to experience the peace, space and simplicity, in the middle of the busy world..
