The Land of Hoboken in Rotterdam, was an estate owned by the shipowner family Van Hoboken from the 19th century until 1924. The estate was located in the Coolsche polder between the Nieuwe Binnenweg, the Westersingel, the Westzeedijk and the Coolhaven and covered 56 ha.
The Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, the Unilever building (now the headquarters of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences) and the Erasmiaans Gymnasium were built here until 1940.
Today, about three-quarters of the area is occupied by the Erasmus MC, the continuation of the Dijkzig hospital. The completion of the Kunsthal in 1992 and the Netherlands Architecture Institute in 1993 strengthened the area's museum function.
