The sun is high in the sky, casting a bright light over the rugged landscape of the Sinai Desert. Sand and stone alternate in this rocky valley, as if time has been recorded in layers and lines here.
The colours range from soft pink to deep reddish brown, and the shadows emphasise the jagged shapes of the rock. The path seems to have disappeared here and there, swallowed up by centuries of erosion and sandstorms. You feel far from anything familiar. Everything invites you to slow down, look and feel how quiet it can be in a landscape that holds so many stories. The wind leaves traces in the sand, just like travellers who once passed through these valleys. Perhaps searching for direction, for meaning or just on their way. Sinai is not a place you pass by carelessly. It is an experience that stays with you.
