About ‘Sisters and friends’ by jovadre

They didn't know, were they sisters or actually friends? What did it matter, they were happy together, a happy couple a deep friendship. Despite being so close, they also had their own lives.

This work was also made in the series "Nude, but not naked".
What I found most special was that one of the two sisters initially refused to pose naked at all. Only after long deliberation and after she had a good look at my work from this series did she join in. Reluctantly at first, but with her sister's help she too felt free in front of the camera, for this series that is.

My current digital work is a mixture of Naïve art and Expressionism. Working with nudes, I digitally edit these photos into new creations.
Photography is usually the starting point for a new work. In 2016 I worked on a photo project: "Dancing outside the comfort zone". Dancers are photographed offstage. Their actions are recorded in other locations, such as the metro, shopping street, steam…
