Finns are some of the fittest people on earth. In winter, skates and long lats are pulled out of the closet en masse.
This photo was taken near the Punkaharju headland in Finland. The 7km long strip separates two lakes and has therefore traditionally been an important connecting route.
In winter, the snow-covered lakes are used to clear a track that can be used for skating or cross-country skiing.
