'Pumping station Sliedrechtse Polder' was photographed in the Alblasserwaard polder near Bleskensgraaf (South Holland, Netherlands). The pumping station was commissioned in 1883 and operated on steam. This allowed the scoop wheels to continue grinding water from the polder. The pumping station now runs on diesel and the centrifugal pump works the water to De Alblas.
