About the artwork

Soap Bubble Sitting on Grass Halm - a single large colorful soap bubble landed on a grass halm. The bubble has vivid rainbow-colors and a landscape reflection in its center.

My daughter wanted to get a bubble machine for our 19 week old puppy. Like all puppies she needs a lot of exercise and entertainment to keep her busy, happy and out of trouble. Looks like someone else besides the puppy had some fun.

I love how crisp and glass like the soap bubble looks and replects all its suroundings. The bubble looks like a tiny universe. Soap bubbles are extreemly thin and pop quickly. Soap bubbles are hollow iridescent globes.

Throughout history people have been facinated with soap bubbles. From scientist, artist and off course children soap bubbles entertained and fascinated folks from all walks of life.

“Make a soap bubble and observe it; you could spend a whole life studying it,” Sir William Thomson, Lord Kelvin, allegedly said in the late nineteenth century.

The soapbubble is associated with the meaning of fragility and transience of human life. Humans have a neverending facination with soap bubbles . They envoke a sense of wonder. What would childhood be without soap bubbles?
