About the artwork
"Soft and calm: Slightly curly leaves" is a macro photo of a pair of beautifully curly leaves of a plant in Lanzarote. These leaves are a few together. These leaves have fallen off the plant and dried in the lovely Spanish sunshine. This has made the leaves more translucent and lighter in colour, and the veins can be seen much better as a result. The right lighting creates a calm abstract image that shows off the natural curling leaves very well. The leaves lie on a textured mirrored surface, making the reflection even more abstract.
When taking this photo, I chose a small depth of field. Because of this choice, only a small part of the leaves is in focus, and everything in front of or behind this surface gradually fades away. This gives a very nice dreamy atmosphere to the photo, as some parts seem to become almost abstractly painterly this way.
This photo could hang beautifully as wall decoration on canvas or aluminium, for example, in the bedroom, dining room or just above the sofa! Also beautiful in business locations such as on the wall in a meeting room, office, waiting room or practice room!
