About ‘Soft evening light over Hopfensee and Säuling’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

In the warm breath of the evening, Lake Hopfensee lies still, like a well-kept secret. The light of the sunset spreads across the water and meadows, a gentle gold that makes every contour appear softer, more expansive, almost dreamlike. Behind the lake, the Tegelberg massif and the Säuling rise up, two ancient guardians of the Ostallgäu, whose silhouettes seem to float in the last light of day. The mountains cradle the sky like a bowl, and above them the clouds drift slowly by, as if not to disturb the moment.
The landscape opens up in all its vastness: Swabia, Bavaria, Upper Swabia, the Allgäu – a mosaic of colours, shapes and memories. Here, time seems to stand still for a moment, as if the world were listening to the gentle breath of nature. Evening settles over the hills like a veil, and in the twilight that special atmosphere emerges in which the ordinary glides into the poetic. A scene that is not merely seen, but felt – a silent greeting, carried by light, wind and the infinite tranquillity of the lake.
