Solar system for children by Marion Lesnik

Artistic depth meets imaginative detail: this illustration of the solar system is much more than an astronomical overview – it is an invitation to dream. The planets float against a deep, atmospheric midnight blue background, hand-drawn by me with precise colour strokes and a keen sense of texture. The modern, minimalist layout leaves room for the vastness of space, while the gentle gradients and fine lines lend the nursery a calming yet inspiring depth. What makes this composition special is that between Saturn, Jupiter and Earth, a brave astronaut and a dachshund in a space suit accompany us on our journey through the stars. These lovable characters break up the classic objectivity and give the picture a warm, childlike soul. This makes the complex topic of space accessible and stimulates the imagination of little explorers to dream themselves into the capsule of "Apollo 11".

With my many years of experience as a qualified designer, I have aesthetically combined knowledge and humour here. Each element was first developed analogously on paper in order to retain the naturalness of the coloured pencil, which can be felt in every crater landscape of the moon. A high-quality work of art for modern children's rooms that perfectly masters the balancing act between early learning and playful joy.
