The Slovak name for this large castle ruin is Spišský hrad. Located in the eastern part of Slovakia, it is among the largest castle sites in Central Europe. The ruin is located in the Spiš region near the village of Žehra and near Spišské Podhradie.
Since 1993, this castle ruin has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List along with several nearby sites.
