Squirrel in the woods.
The squirrel is 20 to 28 centimeters long and 250 to 350 grams heavy. Its bushy pigtail is from 15 to 20 centimeters long. It is an omnivore, belonging to the rodents.
Contrary to what its name suggests, its colour can vary from black to yellowish, with all shades of red and brown in between. The colour also becomes more greyish as the squirrel ages. The ear tufts are especially striking in winter. A squirrel can raise the hairs on the plume tail.
