For this picture I would have liked some ground fog...
The morning was clear and cold (at the shooting location the thermometer showed -22°C), and I hoped for perfect conditions, since there is often some fog at this location and at these temperatures the trees are white with hoarfrost. But as I drove onto the motorway, I could already see a thick bank of high fog in the direction of travel - I wanted the fog down and not up! Fortunately, shortly before Füssen it became clear that this high fog did not reach all the way to the mountains. Nevertheless, when I arrived, the whole sky above the church was grey, the mountains were not visible, but just at the right time the fog cleared and revealed the view of the mountain peaks.
Still, some ground fog would have made for a more mystical atmosphere and more hoarfrost on the trees.
