About ‘St. John's fire in Grainau’ by Michael Valjak
Every year on 23 June, on the eve of St. John's Day, the mountain fires take place in Grainau at dusk. Many individual fires are lit along the Waxenstein ridge, as well as some Christian symbols on the mountain slopes. An impressive spectacle, which can be observed very well, especially from the church in Obergrainau.
